Every year we hold an exhibition at Forestville Memorial Halls. This year's event was held on Saturday and Sunday 3 - 4 March 2012.
Layouts on show at this year's exhibition included:
NSRMA's own Dungog, H0 gauge NSW prototype, Mainline Mark 2 in 00/H0 gauge and Kidz Power Railway, our 00/H0 youth group layout;
Peter Betts' dual gauge Bridport South Western, 4mm scale EM standard gauge LSWR and broad gauge GWR in about 1890. Peter is a member of NSRMA and the British Railway Modellers of Australia;
Traintasia, G scale layout featuring a mix of trains and favourite cartoon characters;
Rydal Hill by Ian Williamson of Epping Model Railway Club;
Carlo by the Historic Electric Traction group, based on Carlingford station in N gauge during the 1960s and 1970s;
Brunswick Park, H0 gauge based on the NSW Main North line near Strathfield in the 1980s, by the Epping Model Railway Club;
Jembaicumbene, H0 gauge in the NSW Southern Highlands;
Mullet Creek, H0 gauge based on the Hawkesbury area in NSW;
Haydenville, freelance H0;
Pop's Trains, vintage Hornby 0 gauge;
Thomas Town, featuring everybody's favourite tank engine and his friends; and
Mungo Scott's by Sydney Model Railway Society. H0 gauge model of the well-known landmark on Sydney's Metropolitan Goods lines.
Other exhibitors included:
British Railway Modellers of Australia - demonstration stand. Find out about this year's Convention in Perth;
Toy Collectables - new and second-hand trains, die-cast and other toys;
Sydney Model Railway Society - demonstration stand;
Warringah Model Engineers Inc - display of larger-scale models;
Classic Meccano - display of models;
Austrains - H0 models for the discerning modeller of Australian railways;
Alco World - everything for the fan of Alco locomotives in Australia and the USA;
Forest Miniatures - your local model shop;
The Model Railroad Craftsman - All the hard-to-find bits and pieces, including a side range of DCC items;
Kerroby Models - pewter detailing parts;
Anton's Trains - detailing parts and OZ controllers; and
Casula Hobbies - tools, parts and accessories.
The club's Bring and Buy stand was in operation throughout the show.
As always, we were delighted to be able to support the Riding for the Disabled Association (NSW) Tall Timbers Group who ran our entrance desk, raffles and all-important canteen.
